reminiscing.

a new favorite blog of mine, busy bee lauren {she is adorable} is doing an old photo challenge and i just had to participate. you know how i just love love love photos.

the story: this photo was taken almost 2 years ago when isaac and i first started dating seriously. he invited me to his mom's birthday and i was so thrilled! it was the first time i was going to meet his whole family and i was nervous. the first time i saw isaac i knew i wanted to get to know him {we officially met at classic skating. yes, classic skating}. i felt so lucky to be there as his girlfriend. for his mom's birthday we went to sundance to ride the ski lift up the mountain. it was a full moon and it was so romantic. this is one of the first real photos of isaac and i together and it is so special to me. we look so happy! who knew we were going to get married! it still amazes me that we found each other. i just love my hubs.

oh goodness. i am so excited to tell you about my latest find. as you know, i'm all about homemade treats and i rarely buy store bought goodies. but my mom started raving about these ice cream cookie sandwiches and i had to try them. they are amazing. the cookies are so soft and fresh and the ice cream is premium. i've been eating one every day the past few days and every time i remember i have them in the freezer i do a little dance. that's how good they are. they're called 600 lb. gorillas and you can find them at costco. they even have a coupon for them right now. buy them, you won't be sorry.

helloooo everyone. happy weekend! i myself am getting ready to spend the evening at work {boo} but wanted to share some pics from our week.

i love our new bike rack. before we were constricted to our very boring neighborhood, now we can go wherever we please!

of course we had to go to the jordan river parkway. want to hear a funny story?! isaac decided he wanted to sit on a little secluded bench next to the river and he walked up on some people doing the deed. yes, the deed. no, they were not naked...but they were up to no good. i wanted to go up to them and say "really?! you're really doing it in the park where children ride their bikes. really!!" some people.

so hardcore.

it was a cold night but we had fun on our ride. we also saw some baby foxes!!! when you ride on the jordan river parkway you see all sorts of nature. all sorts.

1 yearsie.

our 1 year anniversary is tomorrow and we're celebrating today! i can't wait to see what isaac has up his sleeve. we started off the morning with some chunky cinnamon french toast from kneaders - oh my goodness, so good! there is nothing better than spending all day with my hubs of 1 year! i guess i'm no longer a newlywed huh.

our love day was just perrrrrfect.
we decided to stay home for dinner in order to avoid the crazy crowds. isaac cooked me the most delicious dinner and i baked/dipped a bundle of treats.

after dinner i surprised isaac by taking him to wiseguys comedy club at trolley square and we laughed our bums off. dwayne perkins is a funny funny man. it was fun to surprise ike. if you read his blog, you know he loves him some comedy.

and guess what isaac got me for valentines...a couples massage!!!!
i can't wait, i need it real bad.

tonight...

we actually had some down time! we made chicken chili and cornbread and then curled up on the couch with some baby ben & jerry's and snl. have you seen this skit? loved it.

remember how i said i was glued to my couch during finals? here is proof. isaac and i were in this position every night for a week straight. we love this spot because we lay down the electric blanket and it warms our bums. and this is also proof that we will do anything [take dumb pics] to avoid studying.

look what isaac brought home from work with him last night to celebrate our 6 month anniversary! i was so surprised. i was just cooking dinner in my pj's and in he walked with these beauties. and chocolate! he knows me so well.

i love taking sunday drives during the fall. we took ike's family dog abbey with us and we headed up springville canyon to see the fall colors.

grandma.

my sweet grandma passed away last month and i miss her every day. i was honored to speak at her funeral and read an excerpt from my journal i kept as an 8 year old girl.

"i love my grandma so much! she takes me places a lot. but i love her so much that i cannot tell you. do you like your grandma? well you probably do not love yours as much as i do! she is the best grandma in the world! she loves us so much that when she hugs us we get squeezed because she loves us so much! she is my dad's mom but she is nicer to me than my dad. i am sort of afraid that she might die but my mom says she won't die until i am older. my grandma likes cats. i love my grandma."

i am obsessed ingrid michaelson. every time a put on her latest album everybody i instantly cheer up, even if i'm already happy. give her a listen.

oh my goodness. i just found out ingrid will be here on october 17th at in the venue.
