why i love sunday.

every sunday, after performing our ward librarian duties, we come home and make a big delicious breakfast. this week i was out of my favorite waffle mix so i turned to my go to cook book -- better homes and gardens -- and made my own. i will never use the mix again. these are so fluffy and delicious. you can get the recipe here. and if there are only 2 of you, i recommend only making half the recipe.

sometimes i wonder...do i blog about food too much??! i hope not, because food just makes me so happy.
as my mom and i always say...

as much as i love turquoise, i went with the petal pink.am i crazy to be so excited about this? quite possibly. my husband told me i was taking my cupcake love to a whole new level.

i am also crazy excited about our massages tomorrow, its going to be so fab! recently i have been thinking in little letters...here are a few on my mind.

as you know, i am a treataholic. i found this recipe for homemade oreos on a new favorite blog -- just cook already -- and made them that very night. i never know when my need to bake will strike so i always try to keep my kitchen stocked with my baking favorites. these are easy, soft and tasty.
make them for your lover/friends/family.

v day.

our love day was just perrrrrfect.
we decided to stay home for dinner in order to avoid the crazy crowds. isaac cooked me the most delicious dinner and i baked/dipped a bundle of treats.

after dinner i surprised isaac by taking him to wiseguys comedy club at trolley square and we laughed our bums off. dwayne perkins is a funny funny man. it was fun to surprise ike. if you read his blog, you know he loves him some comedy.

and guess what isaac got me for valentines...a couples massage!!!!
i can't wait, i need it real bad.

tonight.

i am 100% grump.
my poor husband.
i attribute it to the fact that i am applying for my capstone and it is stressing me out big time.
in a way i am deciding my career!
which is exciting, but stressful.

easy as pie.

i tried this recipe for chicken and veggie pot pie last friday and it was delish. i found it via real simple.
it is one of my new favorite sites for easy recipes and fabulous ideas. i get their daily emails and it always brightens my day.

i changed the recipe a bit by using chicken broth instead of white wine and i only used one onion and added potatoes. just peel and chop up the potatoes and boil them until they are nearly cooked. add them when you add the chicken to the mixture.

it is so yummy and healthy, you really must try it.

we celebrated my brother's big 1-8 a couple weeks ago and i loved it. and i'm sure he did too, he got soooo spoiled. spoiled because "it's his last birthday before his mission" blah blah blah.

good thing i love everyone's birthdays nearly as much as my own.

this weekend is going to be grand. it's our first married v day and i can't even begin to express how happy that makes me. i am married to the funniest, most handsome, best friend a girl could ever have. i am so happy.
ike and i have plans filled with lots of yummy home cooked food (i'm trying out a few new recipes!), treats up to our ears, date nights, and time with family. i'm so excited! and i just painted my nails purple for the occasion.

i just love him.

a while back my bestie amanda posted this recipe on her blog and my life has been changed for the better! i had cake balls at one of my wedding showers and i've been dying to figure out how to make them ever since.

they are really easy to make, all you need is a red velvet cake mix, a can of cream cheese frosting, and chocolate for dipping. but learn from my mistake - do not put use all the frosting like bakerella says, the cake gets too moist and isn't cakey enough. use like 3/4 of the can and it will be perfect. enjoy!

we actually had some down time! we made chicken chili and cornbread and then curled up on the couch with some baby ben & jerry's and snl. have you seen this skit? loved it.

i love gelato and hate amoxicillin.

hey hey. i'm taking a quick study break in order to regain some sanity. all my free time is now spent studying, trying to keep my apartment from becoming a disaster, cooking, and sleeping. oh, and i've got to get my bachelor fix in. do you watch it? it is so so sooo bad, yet so good. i have to watch it while isaac at work because he.would.die. if he knew how cheesy/fake it is. but i can't help but love it!

a while ago ike took me on a little date to this new place right by our house called pizzeria toscano. it was fun to try a new place - plus they have gelato!!!! my fav.

p.s. i officially have a sinus infection...amoxicillin and i are not friends.
